Triitme’s Design Diary part III
Het team van Triitme zette de leukste design (kerst)markten op een rij!
Christmas is about to start and, little by little, all cities around the world are changing the mood. In Spain, Madrid spreads a warm and contagious spirit we are in love with. These days, the Triitme! team went to the streets last days looking for some inspiration around markets and amazing design pop-up stores that will make you go absolutely crazy!
Reconverted in a vintage market, an ancient train station placed in 61 Delicias St. welcome Mercado de Motores. Gourmet products, fashionable items, retro bikes and much more is shown in this flea market in which both recognized artists – the Spanish designer Ion Fiz, among others, and unknown people offering cool second hand articles- are mixed every second weekend of each month.
This is not the first time we went visiting Dimad at Central de Diseño (Paseo de la Chopera, 14) but, maybe because of Christmas spirit, the last one was really enjoyable. Deco and fashion are the two major subjects of this exhibition that is becoming more and more famous.
Ceramic housewares from Tánata caught immediately our attention. Combining bold pieces made with care with a quality finish, they usually design for selected designers.
Artisanal jewellery from Julieta Álvarez, Mouchette and Papiroga was inevitably the object of desire of the feminine Triitme! team as well as the bowties from Jose Zambrano made its part with the boys.
Born from the reinterpretation of old candy containers, La Mamba offers original food wood jars that we highly recommend to make your kitchen a little bit cool!
Madrid in Love delighted us with navajo bags and backpacks and nice wooden lamps in a Christmas ambient. Take a look!
Finishing our shopping route, The Hovse, at 40 General Arrando St., made us feel at home. Warm colours, handcrafted articles in every corner, high quality textiles and kids stuff make this elegant market a stylish mix of beauty and trends around the three floor of this historic building where 80 brands expose their beautiful designs.
We’re sure you’re now willing to visit Spain and discover the huge cultural activity it offers so, don’t hesitate at all and come visit us! For the others who have already enjoyed the city, it’s the perfect moment for focusing on Christmas design, isn’t it?
